Dino lettuce is an evolution of romaine selected for its unique leaf structure: pointed, spiny-tipped leaves with thick, juicy stems. The result? Maximum texture and crunch, making Dino ideal for both raw and cooked applications. The flavor is sweet, rich, and mildly bitter. This new-to-the-world variety from Row 7 Seed Company is the result of a multi-year collaboration with lettuce breeder Bill Waycott. Based in Californias Salinas Valley, the epicenter of the commercial lettuce industry, Bill grew disillusioned by the trend toward uniformity and shelf life at the cost of nutrition and flavor. He set out to begin his own independent breeding company, choosing to instead focus on developing more nutritiousand more deliciouslettuce varieties.
