More About This Product

Staghorn sumac, Rhus typhina, harvested by hand at peak, in the mid-Atlantic region. The clusters of Meadows and More's native sumac have a tart, nutty flavor that is not as sour or vinegary as the Turkish sumac found in stores. The prime harvest period is short and for longer term storage they recommend to strip and dry the fruit clusters off the stem, to prevent insect/mold growth. To make a suamc tea, infuse in water until it turns pink and strain.
