Baldor’s Imperfect Produce program creates a market for perfectly good and nutritious produce that would otherwise be wasted. Strict aesthetic standards set by retailers and the food service industry result in about a third of a farmer’s crop never making it off the farm. We are currently working with farms to sell their surplus, imperfect produce to our customers. By imperfect, we mean any fruit or vegetable that is oddly shaped and/or has a slight cosmetic blemish.
